I'm a research manager at MATS Research, where I guide MATS fellows in designing, conducting, and communicating high-quality research in the fields of AI alignment, transparency, and security.

Prior to this, I worked as a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) researcher at the University of Birmingham, the Centre for Digital Citizens, Newcastle University, and Cardiff University in the UK; the Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute (M-ITI, now ITI) in Portugal; the Interactions Lab at UNIST in South Korea; the department of Informatics and Telematics at Harokopio University and the Information Systems Laboratory Research Group at the University of Athens in Greece. I'm also a SPRITE+ Expert Fellow. I hold a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Madeira in Portugal, an MSc in Advanced Information Systems from the University of Athens in Greece and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Leicester in the UK.

My current research interests focus on AI Safety, with an emphasis on long-term risks.
Areas that my research has focused in the past include privacy, trust, security, human-centered design, computational social science, computer-mediated communication, financial technologies, and digital identities.
